A group of environmental activists staged a protest at a Tesla showroom in Čestlice outside Prague early this morning, climbing onto the roof and displaying banners critical of billionaire influence in politics and climate policy.

Roughly ten individuals associated with Greenpeace Czechia and other regional branches unfurled a large banner reading “Our world is not your toy” and placed a three-meter-tall caricature of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and U.S. President Donald Trump outside the building.

The demonstration took place in the early morning hours of Wednesday morning and involved participants from five countries, including Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria and Poland, according to a Greenpeace spokesperson.

Protesters also replaced the Tesla showroom's flags with modified versions bearing images of Musk and Trump alongside slogans opposing the influence of wealthy individuals on environmental policy and democracy.

The protest is part of what Greenpeace calls a “Time to Resist” campaign, a coordinated series of actions across multiple countries drawing attention to the perceived impact of billionaire-backed corporations on civil society and climate change. The group alleges that high-profile figures like Musk and Trump contribute to environmental and political instability.

Police were reportedly present at the scene, but there were no immediate reports of arrests or disruptions to the showroom’s operations. Tesla representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

The protest comes as Greenpeace International faces ongoing litigation in the United States and Europe. The organization is currently fighting a lawsuit filed by Energy Transfer, the developer behind the Dakota Access Pipeline, which accuses Greenpeace of encouraging protests that allegedly harmed the company financially.

Among the participants in Tuesday’s protest was Czech actress Antonie Formanová, granddaughter of Oscar-winning Czech-American director Miloš Forman, who said she joined the action to support free expression.

While Greenpeace emphasized its opposition to what it described as “billionaire-driven environmental harm,” broader public reaction to the demonstration remains to be seen. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement.
